Chapter 1--The Mission
"Fox, we have a mission for you." General Pepper's voice radioed Fox McCloud via the badge on his left breast. "It seems that Star Wolf has asked for your assistance. He asks that you meet him on the Asteroid Belt. He seems to be in distress."
Fox was oddly puzzled by this request. Star Wolf had never asked for his help, and he never would, or so Star Fox thought. Whatever it was, it had too have been urgent. Fox hit his badge and muttered: "I'm on my way."
***
When Star Fox arrived at the military base, Pepper was in his office. "Sir, what's the situation? Is the whole team going, or just me? When shall I depart?" Fox asked the General quickly.
General Pepper smiled. "We know nothing of the situation. Falco is going with you. And you should leave this minute."
Fox nodded at went to the cargo bay, where a Blue Bird was twiddling his feathers and resting against a pile of boxes. "About time, Fox! I've been waiting here for hours!" Star Fox could hint the usual sarcasm in Falco's voice, and ignored it.
"We should get going now..." Fox turned to the ships. Falco and Fox got in their separate ships, and blasted off toward the Asteroid belt.
"So Fox, what do you think of Wolf asking us for help?" Falco radioed Fox's ship.
"I dunno...It all seems very suspicious to me. Wolf would rather die than ask for our help--or at least, that's the way it seemed."
"I hear ya Fox, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a trap, and he's waiting there with a machine gun behind his back. I wonder if the rest of his team is there," Falco pondered aloud.
"Well, whatever the case, General Pepper seemed to think that this was urgent, or he wouldn't have rushed us out of the door. I guess the only thing to do is wait and see..." Fox replied.
"Hey Fox, you don't think that it's the Aparoids again, do you?"
"I highly doubt it," said Fox simply. "We destroyed every one of them, remember? Perhaps Star Wolf is having trouble with some of the bandits there because he helped us," Fox laughed scornfully to himself.
"It could be...It all just seems fishy to me. Just stay alert and don't die, will ya Fox?"
